MATT Dodd and Ben Cousins combined to good effect to earn Haltwhistle II victory over Stocksfield IV.

Both claimed three wickets at the cost of very few runs, before they formed an unbeaten fifth wicket partnership which helped them to the six wicket victory.

Dodd posted great figures of 3-2 with Cousins 3-4, and it was the former who just eclipsed his teammate’s score with the bat with 18* to Cousins’ 17*.

For Stocksfield, both Matthew Tobin and Eleana Veal took two wickets.

Belsay maintained their unbeaten start with a seven wicket victory over Hexham Leazes II.

Leazes made 116 as Simon Richardson and Toby Willis starred with the bat, but Dan Tait continued his impressive form with the ball with Izzath Omar Sherriff proving too hot to handle too.

In reply, captain Allan Johnson powered them to their target.

An unbeaten score of 80 from Chris Kirtley saw Mitford B to victory over Corbridge Millers as they successfully chased down the visitors’ score of 141.

Half centuries from Greg McConnell and Stephenson saw Wark to an emphatic 148 run victory over nine man Clara Vale II.

The visitors didn’t come close to challenging with Ryan Potts excelling with a five-fer.

Five wickets for Thompson guided Humshaugh II to a resounding eight wicket win over Wylam II.

Wylam, who had Ollie Miller and Rob Helm reaching double figures, were bowled out for 62, with Humshaugh reaching their goal in the 12th over as Liam Ridley hit out.

Humshaugh lost Matt Jonas early in their reply, but Ridley, assisted by Robbie Sewell, was quick to secure the glory.

Stamfordham lost for the first time as they were unable to reach Mitford B’s low total of 88, all out for just 36.
