THE ladies at Corbridge and Kirkley combined to lift the Northumberland Women‘s League Cup.

Corkley United breezed to victory over newcomers Tillside in the final to earn the silverware. Tillside opted to bat first and were out for 56 with Maria Stamp stamping her authority to claim four great wickets.

Rachel Foreman weighed in with three and there was one apiece for Rhianna Telfer, Ellen Binns and Kelly Withycombe, while Lisa Scott claimed an exceptional catch.

United’s reply was shaky but Jen Sewell batting through and Rachel Foreman hit a quick fire 28 with the winning runs found within eight overs.
