A BRILLIANT performance in the field and with the ball earned Tynedale U11 the county championship.

With all eight players contributing, Tyne bowled out opponents Alnmouth and Lesbury 12 runs shy of their 233 to lift the Northumberland Cup.

Jake Robson made the break through with the first wicket, with wicket keeper Toby Ferguson also claiming a wicket to go with his four brilliant catches. Phillipe King-Lewis and Matilda Foreman then chipped in with wickets, but a spell from Archie Fletcher turned the game firmly in Tynedale‘s favour. In one over, he claimed three wickets while teammate Oliver Scott also scored an excellent direct hit run out from fine leg.

Adam Newton then claimed a wicket before captain Edward Foreman finished things off to secure the trophy.

The success built on a fantastic victory over Alnwick in the semi-finals, Jake Reed, Will Burns and Matthew Sharman all contributing but unavailable for the final.
