IT IS as you were in Division One with all games falling foul of the weather.

It was billed as a huge weekend at both ends of the table, the top four all in action against each other while the bottom two were set to go head-to-head in their battle to move off the foot of the table. However, it turned out to be a damp squib as all 12 teams ended the day with four points to keep the league standings the same with four games left to play.

Second bottom Hexham Leazes had relegation rivals Stamfordham at 28-3 before the heavy rain abandoned the game.

Stamfordham stalwart Ian Donkin went early to a catch by Dan Toward off the bowling of Trevor Cessford, but Mullen and Patterson steadied the ship slightly.

However, both were caught behind by Andrew Brown to give Richard Brooks two wickets to put Stamfordham in trouble.

But the rain came down and Aamir Riaz was unable to add to his five runs as the teams settled for equal points.

Table topping Stocksfield II made their way to 12-0 as they welcomed third placed Allendale , Adrian Marrison hitting 10 of that total as he lined up with Graeme Tolchard.

In the only other game to get started, Newcastle III were on 18-2 at Matfen Hall when the weather ruined people’s plans.

Tom Scott and Aaron Tiffin struck early for Matfen as the former had Jack Sinclair caught by Hugh Blackett and Tiffin bowled Hardy. Cameron Pearce and Jack Longman were at the crease when the game was ended prematurely.
