Washouts win

TYNEDALE Cricket Club’s season ended with a whimper, with the first team’s final match of the season at Ashington washed out.
It took their cancelled, abandoned or curtailed list into double figures for the season.
The second team’s winner-takes-all clash with Ashington was also a victim of the weather, meaning Ashington were champions and Tynedale runners-up.
Corbridge still have it all to play for though, as they go into their final game of the season in the Three Counties Northumberland League at lowly Blyth with a 12 point lead in the premier league.
Victory will see them promoted to join Tynedale in the Wellstream Northumberland and Tyneside League next season.
The Dickinson Dees West Tyne League is also going down to the wire, with long-time leaders Haltwhistle pushed into second place by Matfen last week.
