Injury blow for Tynedale

INJURIES and absentees may handicap Tynedale as they try to regain winning form in the Wellstream Northumberland & Tyneside Cricket League.

While Neil Clark returns to action at Newcastle City tomorrow, Alex Thomson, Craig Barber and Mark Armstrong will be missing from the line-up.

But the cruellest blow will be the absence of professional Stuart Graham, who has picked up a leg injury which is likely to rule him out for a long period of time.

On Saturday, Tynedale lost by 24 runs at home to Annfield Plain.

Graham set up Tynedale with a winning opportunity, taking 5-64 in 14 overs, helping to restrict the visitors to 166.

After the loss of early wickets, Tynedale’s middle order staged a recovery. Craig Barber looked capable of grabbing the glory, until he was dismissed for 55 to effectively end hopes of victory.
