In the most dramatic circumstances, Alston Moor Sports Club lifted their first piece of silverware over the Bank Holiday weekend.
They battled hard to take Darlington Travellers Rest to penalties in the Colin Waites Cup final after a 1-1 draw, winning the shoot-out 4-2 with goalkeeper Jason Williams shining by saving two and converting Aslton’s first to lift the trophy with another cup semi-final still to come.
