For the past 30 years, pupils at Haydon Bridge High School have flourished under sports mad PE teacher Derek Todhunter.
And he rightly earned national recognition for his long service at the school, named a Real Rugby Hero Award by England RFU Schools’ Union thank him for passionately promoting rugby to young people in the area.
