REJUVENATED striker Kurtis Harvey kept up his rich vein of form as he helped move Hexham out of the bottom two in Division One.

In red hot form after becoming a first team regular this campaign, he netted all four goals in his side’s victory over bottom club Wooler, his hat-trick goal a particular peach as he sent home a spectacular, acrobatic effort.

Doomed Wooler have relied on youth this season after losing players, and Hexham were happy to exploit their lack of experience to jump up the table.

Just 12 minutes in, Harvey broke the deadlock as he opened up the defence and fired across the face of Alan Mackay’s goal.

Hexham controlled the first half to keep Mackay busy, the one goal the only difference by the time the teams came out for the second half.

But hosts Hexham stepped it up a gear after the break and in-form Harvey doubled his tally for the day to settle any nerves for the Wentworth side.

However, these crept back in when a long ball caught Hexham’s defence off guard and Cameron Wilson stole in to reduce arrears to one.

The next 10 minutes were tense but it was over to Harvey to again ease any worries, and he completed his hat-trick with a goal worthy of winning any game.

With the ball pumped into the penalty area, the striker produced an outstanding sideways scissor kick which flew into the net and drew applause from both sets of players.

Capping off a man of the match display, he went on to score a fourth in the dying moments as his goals continue to lift his side’s fortunes.

Ponteland United had to wait until Monday evening to play their game at Bedlington Terriers Reserves but it ended in defeat as they went down 3-1.

For the second time in two weeks, Wallington plundered seven goals. But they were made to work hard for the three points as Northbank Carlisle hit five.

The Greens had hit four before the break, Dan Thompson scoring twice and Rishi Dhand and an own goal also registered.

Kyle Reardon got the fifth with 20 minutes to go, and two goals in the last two minutes secured the points with Reardon getting his second and Thompson completing his hat-trick right at the death. The three points were the perfect tonic after a 4-1 defeat to Gateshead Rutherford in midweek, an own goal on 16 minutes all Wallington had in consolation.
