John Austin’s image of rider Catriona Moon taking a drinks break and cooling her horse at Eildon Hills (below) has been chosen as the cover shot for Endurance GB’s 2017 calendar.
John travels to events with wife Barbara who competes, and he submitted a number of pictures to meet the governing body’s brief of capturing the essence of endurance riding.
And his image of Catriona impressed the judges most, although a further two of his images feature inside the calendar too. He said: “Endurance GB was after pictures more to do with people being involved and it wasn’t just about the horse and rider, and it’s so pleasing to have the winning image.”
