RUNNERS from across the district were among the thousands who participated in the Great North Run on Sunday.
More than 1,000 people from the district laced up their running shoes to take part in the 13.1-mile run Newcastle to South Shields, with many runners raising vital funds for worthy causes.
Once again, the Courant teamed up with event organisers to run a Race within a Race to reward the fastest male and female in the Tyne Valley. Read more in this week's Hexham Courant.
