SUNSHINE and showers helped Slaley Show to flourish this year, as crowds filled the showfield for the 157th year.
The occasional downpour did nothing to dampen enthusiasm for this year's event.
Thousands turned out to enjoy the sights and sounds of Slaley's traditional country show on Saturday.
And support for the event appears to be growing year on year, with increased numbers entering the competitive classes and new attractions in the form of Cumberland and Westmorland Wrestling and the return of Mountain and Moorland pony competitions.
Show chairman, Marge Rastall said: "It was a great day.
"Everyone went home with a smile and that's the main thing."
