THE seemingly omnipresent milk grey sky of the past month finally parted to frame a firmament of cornflower blue on Saturday, tempting thousands out to enjoy the sun at Slaley Show.
Families filled the show field to enjoy a packed programme of fun and games, all made exponentially more enjoyable by the welcome presence of some summer warmth.
From the quintessential afternoon tea with brass band accompaniment to multi-coloured ice-cream and a raucous series of games from the Whitley Chapel Young Farmers, there was something to attract all ages.
