AN AMATEUR photographer from Minsteracres has received a commendation in a national competition for this stunning autumnal image of Slaley Forest.
Simon Gakhar (50) submitted this image into the “classic view” category of the UK Landscape Photographer of the Year competition and was thrilled to find out it was one of just 150 picked out to appear in an exhibition at London’s Waterloo Station.
Chemical engineer Simon called the image ’September Moods‘ after he captured the forest in the early morning mist back in 2013.
The exhibition at Waterloo runs from November 23 to February 7.
