FOLLOWING your article concerning Snaiths and school transport, I would like to make the following observations (Courant, June 5).

After a lengthy court case, there were guilty verdicts on four counts of falsifying records and falsifying tachograph records and the court handed out what were deemed to be appropriate sentences for these offences

This should have been the end of the matter. Northumberland County Council should not then decide to mete out further punishment which may lead to closure of the firm and the loss of many jobs.

I also believe Coun. Tully was correct in what he said at the Otterburn Parish Council Meeting and has the support of many residents.

MRS J.R. THOMPSON,

Otterburn
