YOUR front page article last week ( Courant , August 7) did not make it clear that the “two of Hexham’s three county councillors” who have objected to the proposal - and raised some dubious safety concerns – both live within 20 yards of the site that will be developed!

So are the concerns they raise made in the best interests of Hexham as our elected representatives or is this a case of NIMBYism at its worst?

I have no objection to the planning proposal and would like to see some competition for Tesco, even if it is only for a pint of milk after 5pm!
