YOUR article (Courant, June 24) referred to bad blood between the Prudhoe Town and Prudhoe Youth Club football clubs. Says who?

It was also disappointing to see reference made to hostilities between certain members of each club. Those “hostilities” are entirely one-sided.

This is a community club which does a great deal of charitable work, benefiting children and young people across the district, as well as fund-raising to help deserving individuals.

I have never met the current management team of Prudhoe Youth Club, but am hopeful of doing so in the best interests of both organisations.

Also, for the record, you should know I have tried on previous occasions to bring our organisations together without success.

Hopefully, in future, we will succeed in uniting football in Prudhoe.
