I'M sure I was not the only one standing in a polling booth earlier this month, wondering what the cost of a election just for a police commissioner was.
Faced with a list of candidates who had not bothered to let me know what they intended to do with their power, I came to the conclusion that I would rather the cost went to front line policing instead; and said so on my ballot form.
