RATHER than admitting her pedantry, Ann Shepherd (Courant Letters, July 8) would be better apologising for her arrogance.
To suggest that 17.4 million people were conned into voting for Brexit is as patronising as suggesting that Coun. Piper needs a better grasp of democracy.
The referendum showed that British voters rejected the consensus view of the intellectual left, just as they did in the last election.
This may be disagreeable to Ms Shepherd, but it is the exercise of democracy. Instead of accusing Nigel Farage of being utterly graceless, perhaps she and and other referendum deniers should graciously accept the result.
