AS the public governors for Hexham, we’d like to congratulate the hard-working and dedicated staff of the Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust on a great result from the recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection.
These inspections are thorough, in-depth and challenging for all involved. It’s a testament, not only to the great leadership that the trust has had in recent years, but also to every ‘front line’ member of staff whose commitment, attitude and compassion we see at first hand in our role as governors carrying out our own unannounced inspections.
We know that there are times and cases when individual experience falls short of the ideal, and when competing pressures on resources take their toll, but it’s good to know that our region is a beacon of ‘best practice’ to the rest of the nation.
