Lifeline

PETER Atkinson is a proper gentleman by being prepared to support his voters in their campaign to save post offices (Courant, July 25), unlike other MPs.
The Hexham Courant obviously support its readers and has my full support.
Post offices are a lifeline for many elderly people and the disabled. Access to alternative post offices should be taken into consideration. Hence, I question if the Disability Rights Commission and access officers have made any response towards the rights of the elderly and infirm.
To close post offices such as West Wylam makes it impossible for the elderly and infirm to fulfil their legal right to the public service presently on offer.
