THE Tynedale Guild of Spinners and Weavers meets in the community centre on Saturday, between 10am and 4pm. New members are always welcome, and you don’t have to stay for the whole day.

THE annual plant sale of the Stocksfield Plants and Gardens Society is only one week away.

It takes place in the community centre on Saturday, May 28, at 10.30am, and no doubt there will be a queue of keen gardeners waiting to get in when the doors open.

The sale will be full of excellent value plants that are suited to local conditions, so if you have gaps in your garden, come along with a large tray or shopping bag and grab some bargains!

THE bank holiday weekend also brings the county show on Monday, May 30. Needless to say, the roads will be very busy, so if you’re not going to the show, this isn’t the day to pop down to Bywell for a quiet walk in the lanes!

THERE are two fund-raising events coming up soon, organised by a charity called Lifespan that works discreetly to provide support to people living with life-limiting illnesses across the North-East.

The first is a Colour Run at Minsteracres on Saturday, June 4. You can take part in the 1km fun run or the 5km race.

To enter and order a sponsorship form and car parking permit, call (01434) 673777 or email fundraising@lifespanteam.org.uk. For further information visit www.lifespan-charity.com.

It sounds like great fun for the whole family, and Minsteracres will provide a fantastic setting for the run.

The second is a vintage tea party at Stocksfield Methodist Church on Friday, June 10, from 2pm-5pm.

Everyone is welcome to come along for afternoon tea, stalls, freshly-baked cakes, a dance taster workshop and vintage dress-up.

If you’d like to come along in vintage-style clothes, that would be great fun, but it’s not essential. So do come along for a lovely afternoon to help raise funds for a very worthwhile cause.

STOCKSFIELD Methodist Church is open every Monday from 10am to midday for anyone who wants to pop in and have a coffee. You’ll be very welcome.

IF you have anything for inclusion in the Stocksfield village notes please email claredaltry@hotmail.co.uk or phone 07443 222887.
