THE Stocksfield Retired Men’s Association meets on Thursday, May 5, in the Baptist Church Hall, on Main Road.

The talk will be History of the Four Columns, by Alistair Sinton. Members are asked to gather for coffee from 9.30am, and the meeting will start at 10.30am. This is an open group and new members and visitors are always welcome.

ON Saturday, May 7, there will be a jumble sale at the community centre at 2pm.

If you leave your jumble outside your gate, it will be collected on Friday evening after 6pm, or you can deliver it to the community centre on the morning of the sale.

Donations of good quality clothing and household items will be most welcome, but no old computers or large electrical items, please!

There will be refreshments at the jumble sale, so do come along, have a hunt for something interesting, and enjoy a cup of tea and a chat with friends.

LOOKING further ahead, the annual plant sale of the Stocksfield Plants and Gardens Society takes place in the community centre on Saturday, May 28, at 10.30am.

The sale will be full of excellent value plants that are suited to local conditions, so if you have gaps in your garden, come along with a large tray or shopping bag and grab some bargains!

IF you fancy a quiet cup of coffee, some space to think, or perhaps feel the need to talk, Stocksfield Methodist Church is open every Monday, from 10am to midday. You’ll be very welcome.

IF you have anything for inclusion in the Stocksfield village notes please email claredaltry@hotmail.co.uk or phone 07443 222887.
