THE local history society meets on Wednesday, at 7.30pm, in the Methodist Chapel on Mount View Terrace. Richard Young will give a talk about Northumberland’s involvement in the 1715 uprising and the Earl of Derwentwater’s execution in 1716.
STOCKSFIELD Cricket Club will be running starter courses for women and girls (13+) on Tuesday evening between 7-8pm at Prudhoe High School sports hall, starting from February 23. costs just £15. LOOKING further ahead, Churches Together in Stocksfield has organised a ‘Walk Through the Bible’ weekend from the evening of Friday, March 4, until lunchtime on Sunday, March 6. The event, hosted by Stocksfield Baptist Church on the Main Road, is about bringing the bible to life and is for older children, teenagers and adults. It’s essential to book your place in advance.
