I’M delighted to report the success of the charity Christmas card sale earlier this month, organised by Churches Together in Stocksfield and Mickley.

This year’s event attracted the highest attendance ever, and many of the charities represented have told the organisers that it was a huge success from a fund-raising point of view.

The takings for refreshments are used to pay for the hire of the hall for this event and the Big Sing in December, and any funds left over are donated to charity or Christian Aid.

Churches Together would like to thank all stall holders, and the village folk who supported the event so generously and the various church members for their hard work on the day.

THE Stocksfield Health Walk on Monday, November 30, will be around Broomley Village. To join in, just come to Stocksfield Station at 10am wearing appropriate outdoor clothing and supportive footwear.

The walk will take about one hour and the group will share cars to the destination.

DECEMBER is fast approaching, so I hope you have the The Big Sing on Sunday, December 6, at 2.30pm, firmly in your diaries.

Churches Together in Stocksfield and Mickley hold this community carol service every year and it’s a wonderful opportunity for all villagers to get into the Christmas spirit through communal carol singing, supported by Prudhoe Community Choir.

Hot drinks and mince pies will be served afterwards, admission is free and any voluntary donations are given to the work of Christian Aid. All welcome!

IF you ever fancy a quiet cuppa or a friendly chat, Stocksfield Methodist Church is open for coffee every Monday, from 10am until noon. All are welcome.
