WITH thousands of visitors due to descend on Bywell on Monday for the Northumberland County Show, organisers are confident the traffic management systems in place will minimise disruption.

In fact, the team is aiming to replicate the success of last year’s event, which saw motorists reporting swift and smooth entry to parking areas and the showground.

Yellow signs are already out on all major routes, with traders and exhibitors directed on to the 105-acre site using coloured markers.

Those travelling from Newcastle on the A69 will access the show from the B6309 at the Mowden Hall junction. Traffic from Hexham should follow the yellow road signs and take the Styford/High Barns exit from the Styford Roundabout and will be directed to the event from the B6530.

Cars and bus services will also be able to use the A695, while Northern Rail have confirmed all trains will be stopping at Stocksfield station on the day, with extra carriages and services planned.
