THE weather was disappointing but nothing could dampen the spirits of villagers and visitors at last Sunday’s Music in the Park.

So much musical talent to be enjoyed and delicious food served all day – the atmosphere was wonderful. It felt like a big Riding Mill hug!

Thanks to all the organisers and volunteers for putting the fun into fund-raising for the Church Cottage refurbishment.

DON’T think that this weekend will be any quieter.

This morning, the Cafe @ The Foyer will be open as usual between 9.30am and 1pm with Susan, the barber, in the Supper Room for your monthly haircut.

IT’S Riding Mill Tennis Club’s tournament day tomorrow. Juniors should simply turn up on the day with their tournaments starting from 10.30am.

Adults should sign up on the tournament lists in the clubhouse.

Food will be served from noon and the celebrity re-opening of the refurbished clubhouse is scheduled for 1pm.

The adult tournaments will commence at 1.30pm. The tennis club coach will be on hand to help visitors or newcomers. Prayer mats out again for good weather!

ALSO tomorrow, the parish hall is the home for the Northumbria Healers offering you the opportunity to experience the relaxing benefits of energy healing in a welcoming and calming space.

Healing sessions are available between 2pm and 4pm and complement any medical treatment or medication, with a view to helping people to manage the impact of illness.

No appointment is necessary – just pop in but please be aware that the last healing session is at 3.40pm.

Should you have to wait, you will be offered some light refreshment until a healer is available for you.

I can’t believe that next week sees the beginning of July and our ladies of the WI will be meeting on the first Thursday of the month as usual in the parish hall at 7.30pm. The guest speakers will be Steve and Wendy Burrows talking about animal protection.
