THIS morning, while the Café @ The Foyer is open between 9.30am and 1pm, Julie Lippiatt and her team will be holding a table top sale outside the parish hall, or in the supper room if the weather is poor, to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

ON Saturday, at 7.30pm, in the parish hall, the Tyne Valley Chamber Choir, Antiphon, will be holding a summer concert – A Selection of Partrigals and Mad Songs – including music by Rodgers & Hammerstein, Morley, Holst and Vaughan Williams.

Tickets are available from Allegretto Music, in Hexham, tel. (01434) 394130 or Antiphon, tel. 07751 346487.

WEATHER permitting, Riding Mill cricket team will be playing Kings School, Tynemouth Old Boys, on Sunday afternoon at the home ground. Support is always welcome.

THE Café @ The Foyer will be open on Monday at the usual time, but will be closed on Mondays throughout the summer holidays until September.

Of course, it will be continue to be open on Fridays as usual.

MONDAY is a very special day when the Rev. Lesley Chapman will be installed and licensed as priest in charge of St James, Riding Mill, and diocesan advisor in spirituality and spiritual direction.

The churchwardens and parochial church council invite everyone to the service to be held at 7.30pm in St James’ Church, followed by refreshments in the parish hall.

Please note that because of the above celebration, the karate class will be held in the Millennium Hall instead of the parish hall, between 5pm and 7pm.

THE tennis club members are trying to set up a calendar of events for September.

These include an eight-week free tennis course for girls/ladies aged 14 to 25 years, and activities for all on the MUGA court, such as football, walking and casual netball, and junior football.
