The Hedley on the Hill pub has been named the best in Northumberland in this year’s National Pub & Bar Awards.
This year marks a decade since owners Rhian Cradock and Helen Greer took over at The Feathers.
Rhian said: “This was the perfect birthday present; our staff and customers are really proud and we could not have done it without their unwavering support.
“We are completely delighted that we have been chosen for this award,” added Helen.
The pubs from across the UK that have been selected as the best in their area will now have the chance to be named the best in their region.
The Feathers Inn will be up against Durham’s The Copper Mine and The Botanist in Newcastle.
The final will take place at London’s BAFTA theatre on May 24, where 12 regional winners and the overall national Pub & Bar of the Year will be announced.
The awards are sponsored by Pub & Bar magazine. Editor Tristan O’Hara said: “You can only imagine the fantastic variety of operations we have discovered through the judging process.”
