A DISPLAY of fashions from through the generations was the perfect way for Shotley Women’s Institute to celebrate the organisation‘s national centenary.
Branches of the WI from across Tynedale and beyond have been celebrating the 2015 anniversary, and about 50 members and guests attended the special night at Snods Edge Village Hall.
Vintage fashion specialist Gabby Sutton was on hand to present outfits from 1880-1980, while a specially-baked cake was cut to mark the important occasion.
Committee member Ruth Barrass said: “It’s not our centenary here at Shotley, but we felt it was important to do our bit to mark the national anniversary.
“We had a lovely night and the fashion show was a good way of looking at the way things have changed over the years”.
