Christopher Cooper, of Branch End Terrace, appeared at North Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, April 11, and pleaded guilty to four counts of making indecent photographs of children.
The court heard that 52 year old Cooper had the images on a computer and mobile phone at his house when it was searched in August last year.
In total, more than 3,000 child abuse photographs and videos were discovered, some of which were category A, which are the most serious kind.
Cooper was released on unconditional bail and will be sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court on May 9.
