ON SUNDAY, October 4, from 2pm until 4pm, Wylam Community Orchard will be weeding and mulching fruit trees, cutting and raking the remaining grassland and beginning the preparation of phase four of the wild flower meadow project.

It’s been harvest time in the orchard. During September, there were three sessions at which apples and plums were harvested.

Members have taken away a share of this produce and it is also available for collection from Wylam Nurseries.

This will continue during October, so pop along for your share.

Then, on Saturday, October 17, it’s the orchard’s apple squeezing session in Wylam Library’s Falcon Centre from 10am until noon.

Enjoy lots of apple-related fun and look and taste over ten apple varieties while buying your bread from the artisan baking community.

ON the evening of Saturday, October 17, the film club is showing The Imitation Game, set in the Second World War and starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightly.
