A PRUDHOE woman will stand trial, accused of stealing thousands of pounds from a care company.

Donna Nicholas has denied stealing more than £2,000 from her employer last year.

Appearing at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, October 5, Nicholas (31) pleaded not guilty to one charge of theft by employee.

Between September 1, 2015, and November 30, 2015, she is accused of stealing £2,837.74 from Careline Homecare in Newcastle.

Careline Homecare provides small personal alarms for elderly and vunerable people to contact their care team for help.

Nicholas, of Masters Crescent, Prudhoe, will return to Newcastle Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, January 9, for trial.
