A MOTHER and son team from Prudhoe have raised almost £115 for Help for Heroes.

Sonia Brunton-Collins and her 14-year-old son, Joshua Collins, walked the 13 miles from Prudhoe to Hexham, visiting the war memorials in both towns.

Joshua, who is a pupil at Hexham Priory School, suffers from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

The pair wore fancy dress for the occasion last Saturday, with army camouflage being the overriding theme.

Sonia said: “Joshua previously raised £92 for Help for Heroes in a baking project, and he wanted to better that total.

“It was tiring but we did it. We enjoyed it and several people put money into our collection bucket on the day.”
