PRUDHOE’S very own radio station has kicked off its winter broadcast in preparation for the town’s big Christmas lights switch-on on Friday.

Radio Prudhoe, which runs from its studio at the Fuse Media Centre for two stints every year, launched its winter broadcast on Monday.

It will be broadcasting local music, chat and coverage of festive events online, 24 hours a day until Sunday, December 3.

The radio station usually comes back on air for three weeks around the May bank holiday in order to take in Arts Week and Prudhoe Town Fair.
