A WEEK of culture is on the cards for Prudhoe as the community arts week tunes up for another year.

Prudhoe Community Arts Week will launch on Monday, May 29, and culminates with the town fair on Sunday, June 4.

The week will be filled with a packed programme of entertainment and crafts for the whole family.

A teddy bears’ picnic will take place from 2pm to 4pm on Monday at Prudhoe Community Centre, with music, games, face painting and story-telling.

Visitors can also take part in a free session to decorate umbrellas for the town fair parade.

Wednesday is basket day at Prudhoe Allotments on Redwell Road. From 10am to 1pm budding gardeners can buy hanging baskets or create their own with gardening chat and advice.

Also on Wednesday, Prudhoe Gleemen and Prudhoe Community Choir will perform at West Road Methodist Church.

On Friday, a Golden Oldies Music Night will be hosted by Mr Disco Man John Robson at The Legion.

And on Saturday, Richard Heslop will keep youngsters entertained with a storytelling session at Ginevra Coffee Shop from 11am.

Prudhoe Community Town Fair will roll back into town next Sunday.
