PRUDHOE Police Station is due to move to the town’s Spetchells Centre at the end of the month.

Potential sites have been considered for the relocation of the station for several years, and it has now been announced that it will take up residence in the Spetchells Centre on Front Street from Monday, November 27.

The move is part of Northumbria Police’s programme of relocating its stations across Tynedale.

Bellingham’s police station moved to the fire station in 2014, followed by Haltwhistle and Ponteland in 2015. Corbridge Police Station moved to the village’s middle school in 2015.

The force said its public inquiries desk would be located on the ground floor, next to the Karbon Homes and librarian desks.

There is also an office space for police officers to use on the first floor.

An agreement has been reached with the Co-op supermarket for four car parking spaces in their car park to be allocated for police vehicles.
