AN elderly man who died in a collision near Prudhoe last week has been named.
Police were informed of the crash at around 6.50pm on Wednesday, November 8, on the A695 heading into Low Prudhoe.
A Vauxhall Corsa had collided with a Renault recovery truck and emergency services attended the scene, with road closures put in place.
The driver of the Corsa has now been named as 87-year-old George Wanless from Prudhoe. He was taken to the RVI in Newcastle with life-threatening injuries where he later died.
A report has been passed on to the coroner and police are continuing their inquiries into the incident and asking any witnesses to come forward.
