A PRUDHOE man charged with an offence under the Environmental Protection Act has been handed a conditional discharge.
Kevin Michael Jackson (32), of Adderlane Road, attended Newcastle Magistrates’ Court, for trial, on Thursday, November 30.
He had initially denied a charge of handling, controlling, or transferring controlled waste without taking reasonable measures to prevent a contravention of the Act, in Newcastle, on March 19 of this year.
But on the day of his trial, Jackson changed his plea to guilty.
He was handed a 12-month conditional discharge, and was also ordered to pay compensation of £220, and court costs of £20.
