Jon Crowe (26) of Cheviot View, Prudhoe, appeared at Newcastle Crown Court on Wednesday, November 15 and admitted three offences relating to the incident on May 12.
Crowe was accused of losing control of a VW Golf and crashing into the pensioner’s Vauxhall on Station Road, Prudhoe before leaving the scene on foot. The court heard she was taken to Newcastle’s RVI with bleeding on the skull, broken ribs and a broken finger.
Crowe admitted causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving with a controlled drug above the prescribed limit and failing to stop.
He was given an interim driving disqualification, the full length of which will be determined when he is sentenced on Monday, December 18.
