PRUDHOE locals turned out to support a resident who is determined to raise money for Macmillan in memory of his sister.

With the help of Macmillan Cancer Support volunteers Carol Morgan, Thelma Reed and Joan Younger, Michael Thirtle organised a coffee morning in the Spetchells Centre to raise money for the charity.

Michael’s sister, Hazel Keynes, was 59 when she passed away after battling breast cancer a few years ago, and Macmillan provided support during her illness.

The event last Tuesday raised £320.38 through a cake sale, raffle and tombola.
