For the last three years Elizabeth Chapman has baked and sold cakes to colleagues at work to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
But this year she has gone a step further, organising a charity night at Prudhoe Social Club.
Elizabeth (56) was inspired to take her fundraising efforts up a gear following the death of her mother, Rita Pattinson, in January this year.
She said: “I lost my mother to lung cancer and I told her on her death bed that I would carry on fundraising.
“The MacMillan nurses were amazing and I want to say a big thankyou to them as well.
“If it wasn’t for them I don’t know how a lot of people would cope.”
So encouraged by her colleagues at DE Pharmaceuticals in Low Prudhoe, Elizabeth is throwing a charity night on Saturday.
The evening runs from 7.30pm to 11.30pm. The evening will feature a disco and karaoke, a raffle, tombola and various stalls.
