TOMORROW it’s the Horsley Garden Club show at the Lion and Lamb.

Everyone is welcome. The show opens at midday until 3pm. All entries for the various competitions must be delivered between 11am and midday.

The Horsley Garden Club social evening will be held on Friday, September 18.

THE parish council meeting was held on July 20.

The clearance of overgrown vegetation on the path entrance leading to Horsley Marsh which is at the east end of the village is to be arranged.

It was noted there is national concern about the state of the footpaths and anyone concerned with the condition of any footpath in the village or the parish can report the matter on line to the Ramblers’ Association.

With the help of grants and other sources it has been agreed to replace rather than repair the roundabout in the children’s park.

Dog walkers letting their pets foul the children’s park area is to be addressed. A request for bins to be installed to encourage pet owners to clean up after their animals is to be made.

Parking in the village is a concern especially on either side of the entrance to the Hearth arts centre/café.

ON August 22, between 10.30am and 4pm, Horsley Wool Fair and Open Studios will take place at the Hearth.

It will be a celebration of British wool, including demonstrations of feltmaking, spinning and weaving. There will be a fleece sale, exhibitors selling yarns, fibres, equipment, kits, felted, knitted and woven goods and a carding/spinning service.

Resident artists’ will hold open studios, and there will also be competitions.
