THANK you to everyone who supported the Christian Aid coffee morning at the Women’s Institute in August.

This year,it was held to mark Christian Aid’s 70th anniversary, and the support of those who helped on the day, those who baked an array of lovely cakes and scones, and those who came along to enjoy the results was much appreciated.

Because of their generosity, the organisers were able to send a further £175 to Christian Aid, boosting the total collection this year to £2,375.

IT’S a new school year and it’s a new season for Messy Church too.

There are lots of new activities planned – sawing and sanding, painting and gluing, modelling and making and decorating and eating.

There will also be story sharing, music and worship for all.

The next Messy Church is on Sunday, October 11, from 2.30pm until 4.30pm, in the Methodist Chapel.

Messy Church is a joint venture between the churches in Heddon for children, parents and guardians.

Why not come along and enjoy the friendship and fun that Messy Church offers to any family.

ST Andrew’s Church book sale on Friday, October 2, and Saturday, October 3, was once again a very successful event, with over 6,000 books to choose from raising £1,000 in aid of church funds.

Organiser David Potts was delighted with the response and sends “a very big thank you to all who helped in any way to organise and stage the event and, importantly, to our supporters who donated books, visited, browsed and bought.”

THROCKLEY Drama Group will be performing its latest production, Baby Boomers Behaving Badly, in the Women’s Institute on Thursday, October 22, and Friday, October 23, at 7.30pm.

The two-act play was specially written for the group by local creative writer Rachel Cochrane.
