DETERMINED fund-raisers are giving a final push to reach their mega £10,000 charity target.

The SS Fitness team is led by Diane Shane-Stone, from Ovingham, who runs SS Fitness.

Diane’s father Michael Shane died in April 2016 after suffering an aggressive Glioblastoma Multiforme tumour, which made her determined to help researchers find a cure.

She said: “We aim to raise £10,000 by the end of March 2018. This will help fund one week of research to help find a cure for this horrendous disease.”

On January 28 a group of 42 people, aged between five and 79, braved the wind and rain and completed a six-mile circular route in Kielder and raised a total of £650.

The total now stands at £8,260, and a Facebook auctions, along with the 2018 Mad March Mare, are hoped to push them up to the £10,000 mark.

At the Mad March Mare on March 3, at Hexham Racecourse, over 30 of Diane’s class members or clients as well as her husband Colin and eldest son Ben will compete.
