A FLEET of foot pair of Prudhoe fell runners are preparing to tackle 150 miles of challenging terrain in a mammoth fund-raising effort.
Husband and wife team, Graeme and Ruth Dance, are taking on two ultra-runs to raise money for the Marie Curie hospice in Newcastle.
Graeme is set to tackle the 50 mile route from Ullswater to Coniston in the Lakeland 50 challenge. While Ruth will run a 100-mile route, starting and finishing in Coniston, in the Lakeland 100.
The couple, who run Prudhoe business Salto UK, are running in memory of family members and hope to raise £1,000.
Last October, Ruth’s sister Marie Brough lost her partner Tony Best to cancer.
In his last months, Tony was cared for at the Marie Curie hospice in Elswick and Graeme and Ruth are keen to raise funds for the facility.
