PRUDHOE youngsters are sowing the seeds for a better future with a colourful message of peace.
Pupils at St Matthew’s RC Primary School took part in a competition to design one of the town centre’s floral displays.
Prompted by recent terror attacks, many of the children’s designs featured symbols of peace, love and friendship.
Vivienne Readman, from Hollybush Landscaping, selected the winning design from Benn Davis, Louis Black and Sean Messenger. It features the now internationally recognised peace symbol, first used in 1985 during the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.
Plans are now in place to get the flower bed, opposite the Dr Syntax pub, planted up with the new design.
