AN air ambulance was called to Prudhoe on Sunday afternoon to treat a man who was struggling to breathe.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service helicopter landed behind Front Street at around 1pm.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, had breathing difficulties and was treated on the scene by the GNAAS doctor and paramedic team.
He was then taken to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington by the North East Ambulance Service.
