Noah Macdonald made a film of himself rapping the lyrics to Georgie Stephenson outside the birthplace of the “Father of the Railways”.
He then entered the video into Wylam Summer Fair’s film competition and won. Noah had learnt about Stephenson’s life at school and told the story of the inventor who built his first locomotive in 1814.
Dee said: “He is just getting into music now. I know a lot of little boys love playing football but he’s not really into that. He expresses himself in different ways and is a bit more creative.
“When he found out he had won the competition he was totally elated.
“He had been listening to a little bit of rap and I had been explaining to him that one of the ways of learning is learning through music and putting words to music.”
Dee said the organisers of the fair hoped the video could be shown at the Discovery Museum in Newcastle as part of the Great Exhibition of the North.
