On Saturday the post office on Merton Way was targeted and a window smashed.
Youths were also reported to be verbally abusing people in the area.
The teenage boys have been arrested following the incident, one on suspicion of causing damage and one for public order offences.
Northumbria Police have also issued dispersal notices and stepped up patrols to tackle recent incidents of anti-social behaviour.
This follows several calls from residents in Ponteland and Darras Hall about young people causing criminal damage and ASB.
Officers are now carrying out high profile patrols in the affected areas, including Callerton Lane and Merton Way. Dispersal notices will continue to be issued to young people where necessary to try to prevent any further incidents.
The notices give police the power to disperse groups of two or more people from areas where there is persistent anti-social behaviour.
Neighbourhood Inspector Pam Bridges said: “We’re aware of the effect of anti-social behaviour on communities and we are working to address these issues with the local authority, local schools, fire service, youth service, and Northumberland County Council.
“Police patrols are continuing in the area to engage with and reassure local residents as this type of criminal and anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated.
“We want to advise parents to make sure they know where their children are and what they are doing.”
